The Tony Award-winning Best Musical Monty Python's Spamalot opens The Hanover Theatre's 2026/27 Broadway Series on Friday night. Douglas Oktoberfest (Free community festival)
The town of Douglas shuts down its village center on Saturday for the annual Douglas Oktoberfest, and it is completely free to attend. Main, Depot, and Pleasant Streets fill with vendor booths, live music, rides, and a beer garden serving craft brews, plus a classic car show, wiener dog races, a rib cook-off, and a quilt-off. It is about as small-town New England as October gets, and worth the short drive south of Worcester.

Wachusett Mountain Oktoberfest (Saturday & Sunday)

Fairies Aglow at Tower Hill (Ticketed evening event)
After dark, the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill lights up for Fairies Aglow, an evening event where illuminated fairy houses glow among the gardens with music, crafts, and fairy characters wandering the paths. It is a separate ticketed after-hours event with advance registration required, and it is pure magic for the little ones.
